Adult Education and Family Literacy Week

Encouraging everyone to read!

The newest addition to this year’s participation in the nationwide week celebrating family literacy was the inclusion of our high school ASSETs programs. ASES 21st Century and ASSETs After School Program sites held literacy related events from Monday September 25th through Friday September 30th, 2017. Events and activities ranged from Book Poetry, where students received a copy of a page from a book and used it as inspiration to create a handwritten poem; Recipe Book Fun, where students explore literacy through the sharing and creation of recipe books; to our annual Book Giveaway, where all after school students were able to take home a book of their choice to read with their family at home.
